Glasgow Food Policy Partnership Privacy Statement

1.       Who we are

Good Food For All (www.goodfoodforall.co.uk)  is a website of the Glasgow Food Policy Partnership, a collaboration of organisations working to create a healthier, fairer and more sustainable food system.

While Glasgow Food Policy Partnership (GFPP) determines the purpose and means of processing personal data, Glasgow Community Food Network is responsible for employing GFPP staff and all HR policies. Therefore for the purposes of UK data protection law, the data controllers are:

2.       What personal data we collect

We may collect limited personal data, including name and contact details (if you contact us), email address (if you subscribe or correspond with us), technical data (e.g. IP address, browser type). We also use third parties to process website analytics, and search for publicly available information such as organisations, job titles and email addresses.

We also manage personal data related to individuals and organisations signed up as members of the Glasgow Food Policy Partnership, or the related working groups. 

3.       How we collect data

If you are a member of the public, we collect data when you contact us via email, interact with the website, attend an event, sign up to our newsletter, visit our social media channels, or access downloadable resources.

If you are a member of the GFPP, or a working group, you provide us with your personal information when you sign up to attend a working group meeting, or join the partnership. 

4.       How we use your data

Communication with partners and the general public

We use personal data to respond to enquiries, disseminate our newsletter and to communicate with organisations directly. 

We also hold details of partners and working group members, in order to keep them informed of relevant news, updates and events, as well as to run meetings and consult them on relevant issues. 

Recruitment

We hold personal details of staff members, and job applicants, and any contractors we work with. This is in order to recruit staff and carry out work. 

To improve our website

To improve and personalise our website, we process data such as usage behavior, IP addresses, and cookies through 3rd Parties. This information helps us to optimise the functionality of our website, adapt content to your interests, and offer you a personal user experience.

Cookie Statement

WP Statistics is GDPR, CCPA, PECR, and cookie compliance by default.

When you use our site you won’t have a cookie popup since WP Statistics uses cookie-less tracking.

To run webinars and events

When running webinars and events, we process your registration data such as your name, contact details, and other login information. This data is necessary to enable you to access our events. We keep your data on file if you request it, in order to inform you of future events. 

Social media channels

We also process your personal data when you visit one of our social media presences (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Bluesky). This includes, in particular, the information that you provide yourself.

To disseminate our newsletter

We use Mailchimp to send out a regular newsletter. When you subscribe to our newsletter on our website we send that information to Mailchimp who processes it to send out our newsletter. You may unsubscribe from this newsletter at any time.

5.       Lawful basis

We rely on:

  • Legitimate interests – managing the website and responding to enquiries
  • Consent – where you actively choose to receive communications

6.       Cookies and analytics

Our website may use cookies to understand how visitors use the site and improve performance. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

7.       Sharing your data

Glasgow Food Policy Partnership is hosted by Glasgow Centre for Population Health, however no data is shared with GCPH without explicit consent. 

Some of our data is stored on University of Glasgow servers. 

We do not sell personal data. We may share data with website hosting providers or IT service providers. These providers are required to protect your data.

8.       Data retention

We only keep personal data for as long as necessary. For enquiries this is up to 12 months. For technical data such as IP addresses we hold it for 12 months but check Ionos and WordPress policies for more details. If you have subscribed to our newsletter, we keep your email address on file until you unsubscribe. 

We also keep contact details for the stakeholders we work with, and have mailing lists for people who have attended our events to publicise further events.

9.       Your rights

10.  Data security

We take appropriate steps to protect personal data, including password-secure systems and restricted access.
