Glasgow Food Summit – Towards a Good Food Plan for Glasgow

Wednesday 29th May 2019

Glasgow City Chambers

The Food Summit will highlight the importance of a city-wide, holistic approach to improving our food system for improving health, for reducing food insecurity, for building community resilience and for mitigating our collective impact on the environment.   The parallel sessions will focus on the key areas of sustainable food including food insecurity, food economy, food in the community, food for children & young people, food growing and the environment. The event will celebrate the great work that is already established in Glasgow and will provide opportunities for shared learning, discussion, networking and to find out about local food businesses/projects. We hope the event will help shape and build support for a city-wide food strategy for Glasgow, inspire people about the importance of developing a more sustainable food system, and encourage them to consider what more they can do to achieve this.

Many exciting speakers and projects will be presenting and you can access the full programme here.

Please note that attendance to the conference is free, but spaces are limited, so book your space soon to avoid disappointment!

TO REGISTER, email Carol.Frame@glasgow.ac.uk with your preferred parallel sessions (please choose 1 for the morning and 1 for the afternoon).

We hope to see you there!
